Over the weekend of February 15th & 16th, Woodhill Sands held the Alltech Auckland Championship Show.  The show, sponsored by Alltech, was a great success with the enthusiasm among the 449 horses, along with their 281 riders, at an all-time high, and the competition was strong in most classes and age groups. 

Alltech was proud to sponsor three classes:

• Horse Welcome Stakes, 1.25 m — Won by Mikayla Herbert who received prize money, an Alltech rug and goody bag
• Intro Horse, 80 cm — Random spot prizes were awarded to six delighted riders
• Auckland Championship Grand Prix — Won by Glen Beal who received prize money, an Alltech rug, trophy and goody bag

Many riders use this local show as a preparation event for the national Horse of the Year (HOY) event, held on March 10–15 in Hastings. Alltech New Zealand wish the regular riders from Woodhill Sands all the very best as they compete and enjoy their time at HOY.
